I've never heard of this before, but I think that you're probably thinking about your curiosity in the wrong way. My guess is that you're curious about things that are dangerous to explore or that others might not agree with you exploring.
Some people are curious about things that can't be helped. You might be one of those people. It's how you express your curiosity that matters. If you display your curiosity in a manner that is inconsiderate, rude, or outright mean, that's a different matter entirely.
